Announcement March 9th – 6th

 

Golf practice will start on Tuesday,  March 17 at 3:30 in the green space.

 

Juniors will be going to the CCC Junior Career Fair on Tuesday, March 17th.  All juniors should meet in the commons for attendance at 8:15 as busses will depart at 8:20.  We will return by 12:15 to join the 3rd shift lunch!

 

HS girls soccer parent/player meeting Monday, March 16 at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria.

 

Stop by and check out all the items from the Cardinal Closet on display outside the new gym.  These items are free for the taking.

You have a chance for input on the new Library Media Center.  Mrs. Johnson has sent a link to a survey for the LMC Redesign.  Think about how you would use that space for projects and collaboration.  Please take the survey as soon as possible! Survey closes Friday night at midnight.

 

Football Leadership Council applications are due on Thursday of this week.  U of Dubuque football camp forms are available- see Coach Bowman.

 

It is not too late to join the golf teams.  We have the equipment for you. Golf practice will start on Tuesday, March 17 after school in the west gym.  Make sure your physical and concussion papers are turned in.

 

The girls golf team is in need of participants.  No previous experience needed. See Mrs. Taylor.

 

Open hitting this week will be on Tuesday, March 10 at 3:30 and Thursday, March 12 from 12 – 1.  Sign up to attend.

 

Club hOpe meeting Tuesday morning at 7:30am in Miss Deimer’s room – hope to see you there. 

 

Senior Survivor 2020 will be on Tuesday, March 24 at 6:00 PM. Seniors who are interested in participating in Senior Survivor should pick up a questionnaire from the office or from Mrs. Raker (room 113). Completed questionnaires need to be returned to Mrs. Raker by Wednesday, March 18. Who will be the Ultimate Senior Survivor?

The Duo with the most money in their ballot box will win the PEOPLE’S CHOICE TROPHY!  Support and vote for your favorite duo by stuffing their ballot box with monetary donations! So make sure to bring your checkbook and break open your piggy banks to make sure your favorite pair wins!!! All proceeds go to the Maquoketa Athletic Boosters and MHS Dance Team.

Students going to State Individual Speech on Saturday, March 14th will be leaving at 6:45am from the parking lot by welding. Bring everything you need, it is a 2.5 hour drive to Grinnell, so we won’t be home early that day. Bring money for food, dress clothes, scripts and homework or other things to do during the day. We are taking a suburban, so don’t bring too much. 

Join CAGE for a pasta and speech night on Thursday, March 26th. We will be serving pasta with two sauces, breadsticks, and dessert for supper at 6pm in the high school cafeteria. Following at 7pm will be a variety of large group and individual speeches presented in the LMC. Come out and support the club, and see what the students have been working on for the past 3 months!

 

Tuesday, March 17 is the day for the annual Shhh Shamrock activity that is sponsored by student senate. Shamrock necklaces are given to the boys who want them when they enter school. Boys’ shamrocks are taken if they talk to any girls in the hallway or during lunch. They can talk to the girls during class.
