Announcements April 15-19

A note to all unvaccinated students and staff:  There is now one case of measles in northeast Iowa.  

 

No School Friday, April 19 or on Monday, April 22 due to Spring Break. There IS school on Tuesday, April 23. This is a make-up day.

 

CONGRATULATIONS to the following students who competed in the East Area Special Olympics Track and Field event held in Eldridge on Saturday. The results were:

Irene DeMoss – 1st place standing long jump; 1st place 400 meter race walk

Dakota Jordan – 2nd place running long jump; 1st place standing long jump

Pearl Nienkark – 2nd place standing long jump; 1st place 100 meter walk

Briar Walsh – 1st place softball throw; 1st place 100 meter dash

Sam Walsh – 1st place standing long jump; 1st place 100 meter walk

**These athletes will represent Maquoketa High School at the summer games in May on the IA State Campus!

 

CAGE students going to New York:

 

  • If you are going on the New York Trip, you HAVE to turn in your final payment by tomorrow to Mrs. Krum or Miss Althoff.
  • We also need your medical form signed and turned in!
  • If you need another copy, see Krum or Althoff

 

 

SENIORS INTERESTED IN BACCALAUREATE PLANNING: The first meeting will be Wednesday, April 24th during GST in the cafeteria.

 

SENIORS: There will be a mandatory meeting in the east (new) gym on Tuesday, April 16th during GST.  LOTS OF GRADUATION INFORMATION will be discussed, and you need to bring a pen/pencil and your laptop.

Last Tuesday Zach Gavin, Evan Brewer, Lilith Biehl, and Chloe Swanson participated in the state Physics competition at UNI. Zach and Evan placed 14th in the state with their mousetrap car and Lilith and Chloe placed 12th with their bridge!!!!! Tell them Congratulations!!!!!

 

REMINDER: After Prom on April 27th is held at the YMCA at midnight, NOT 11:30 at Timber Lanes (like it says on the ticket)!

 

Congratulations to all students and staff that were involved in “Shrek”.  The performance was top notch and very entertaining. Well done!!
