Announcements February 18th – 21st

Golf scholarship forms are due to Mrs. Taylor by March 6, 2020.

Golf Camp will be held on Tuesday, February 25 and Thursday, February  27 from 3:30 – 4:30. You must sign up to attend.

Congratulations to the following students who competed at BPA State in Urbandale:

-Allison Tubbs (Extemporaneous Speech & Prepared Speech)

-Colin Tracy (Banking & Finance, Personal Financial Management, and Parliamentary Procedure Concepts)

-Chloe Swanson (Fundamentals of Web Design, Fundamental Desktop Publishing, and several open events) 

-Megan Oswalt (Advanced Office Systems & Procedures, Advanced Spreadsheet Applications, Medical Office Procedures, and Financial Math & Analysis Concepts) 

-Evan Zheng (Banking & Finance and Personal Financial Management)

-Colin Tracy placed in the top 10 in Personal Financial Management event

-Chloe Swanson placed 2nd in both Fundamentals of Web Design and Computer Programming Concepts

-Megan Oswalt placed 2nd in the Medical Office event. Also, Megan placed in the top 10 in Advanced Spreadsheet Applications. 

-Both Chloe and Megan qualify to go to nationals in Washington, D.C. in May

-Please congratulate the above students!

Simpson College will be in the counseling office on Mon Feb 24 at 9:45.  Sign up in the counseling office.

Hawkeye Community College will be in the counseling office on Mon Feb 24 at 9:45.  Sign up in the counseling office.

Upper Iowa Univ will be in the Counseling office on Mon Feb 24 at 1:15.  Sign up in the counseling office.

The Sadie Hawkins Dance will be on March 7th from 8-11pm in the cafeteria. Tickets are $5 and will be sold during lunches the week of the dance!

There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, February 25 at 3:30 in the cafeteria for any students interested in playing tennis this spring. Please see Mrs. Raker (room 113) if you can’t make the meeting or if you have any questions.

All students participating in individual speech WaMAC next Monday, Feb. 24th at Mt. Vernon NEED to have a blue sheet completed and to Mrs. Gaul by this Thursday, Feb. 20th. 

Individual speech students will be leaving at 2pm next Monday, Feb 24th from the back parking lot by welding. Bring scripts, dress clothes, and money for concession stands. 

Mrs. Stoss is offering ACT Math prep on Wed Feb 26, an early out day.  This ACT session is open to anyone. Those taking the ACT in April are especially encouraged to attend.  Time is during GST (12:35 – 1:30pm) at CCC. Let either of the counselors or Mrs. Stoss know if you plan to attend so that we have sufficient materials. 

Girls soccer parent/player meeting Monday, March 16th at 6 in the cafeteria!

Student Senate will be sponsoring an event at lunch on Tuesday, February 25. The Iowa Association of Student Council’s state project theme this year is “Stop the Stigma” in reference to mental health awareness. Make sure you stop by our table to fill out an inspirational or motivational card to send to teenagers who are spending time in mental health facilities across Iowa.

National FFA week is Feb 22nd -Feb 29th. There are dress up days each day. I would encourage all students to participate.    See the fliers on the walls
