Announcements Sept. 21st – 25th

University of Northern Iowa will be holding a Zoom presentation on Tuesday, September 22 at 9:50.  Sign up sheet is in the Counseling Office to have the link emailed to you or email Mrs. Yarolim that you are interested in joining the Zoom presentation.

 

Homecoming dress up days

Monday, September 21 – ‘Merica Monday (dress in red, white, and blue)

Tuesday, September 22 – Mismatch Day

Wednesday, September 23 – Class Color Day (9th grade-red, 10th grade-blue, 11th-white, 12th-black, staff-gray, community-purple)

Thursday, September 24 – Spirit Day

Friday, September 25 (virtual dress up day) – PJ Day

 

Students and staff will not gather for dress up day judging this year. If you want to be judged, please email your picture to Mrs. Raker (araker@maquoketaschools.info) by 1:00 PM each day with your picture for that day.

 

Congratulations to the following seniors who were nominated to the 2020 homecoming court.

King candidates: Caiden Atienza, Connor Becker, Kannon Coakley, Hunter Connolly, Zachary Dontje, Grant Michel, Collin Nodurft, and Kaleb Whaley

Queen candidates: Alana Barker, Vanessa Blake, Adeline Bowman, Natalie Ehlinger, Madilyn Lemke, Pearl Nienkark, Kiara Schmidt, and Brianna Tranel

 

All students will be able to vote for the 2020 homecoming king and queen from Tuesday, September 22 through midnight on Wednesday, September 23. Mrs. Raker will email you a Google form as a ballot. The homecoming court will be announced and the king and queen will be crowned before the homecoming varsity football game on Friday, September 25.

 

Tentatively, the High School will be doing remote learning on Wed, Sept 30th, Thurs, Oct. 1st and Fri. Oct. 2nd. Make sure you are logging into your classes those days to complete the assignments so they count as school days! 

 

Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) will be holding a Zoom presentation on Tuesday, September 29 at 9:50.  Sign up sheet is in the Counseling Office to have the link emailed to you or email Mrs. Yarolim that you are interested in joining the Zoom presentation.

  • Breakfast Starts: 8:00 a.m.
  • Class Start Time: 8:15 a.m. (first bell)
  • Class End Time: 3:20 p.m.
  • Bus Pick-up Begins: 3:25 p.m.
  • Walkers Released: 3:20 p.m.
