Announcements Sept 23rd – 27th

BPA will be working on their window curtain Tuesday-Friday this week after school. Please join us. 

 

BPA is looking for volunteers to work at Maquoketa Car Show this weekend. Please stop in room 202 for details.

 

FCCLA will be working on our window display after school on Wednesday and probably Thursday.  Plan to come and paint – all members and potential members are welcome.

 

Maquoketa Kiwanis SKILLS CHALLENGE will be on Thursday, October 3rd beginning at 7 PM. This event is for boys and girls ages 6-15, and will be held at Goodenow Field. Interested participants may stop in the office for an entry form.

 

Clinton, Scott, Muscatine College representative will be in the counseling office on Wednesday, Sept 25 at 9:45.

 

St Ambrose representative will be in the Counseling Office on Friday Sept 26 at 9:45.

   You can vote for Mayor Don Schwenker, Officer Scott Hansen, Coach & Teacher Sammy Scar, Super Fan Dan Dague, Seniors Sydney Clark & Roy Gerlach, Middle School teacher Cassie Burns, and DOC KOOB

   You can vote as many times and for as many faces as you want!
  Tickets to vote are $1 each.

   For every $10 you donate, your name will be put in the drawing to be one of the PIE THROWERS!

   The top 2 faces will receive a pie during half-time of the boys Fresh-Soph game on Homecoming night, Friday, October 4th.

   PLEASE BE GENEROUS WHEN VOTING!

   ALL money raised by the Athletic Boosters goes to purchasing equipment and uniforms for our MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC PROGRAMS.

   The Athletic Boosters will also be selling tickets up through the start of the Fresh-Soph game. Tickets will be sold during the home volleyball and football games, as well as during lunch the week of Homecoming festivities!

 

Spanish Club will meet in Mrs. Henneman’s room (403) on Wednesday after school, Thursday morning at 7:30am and Thursday after school to decorate our Homecoming window! All are welcome!

 

The cross country meet in Bellevue was a successful meet! We had 3 runners place, Addie Michel, Sydney Miller and Kaitlyn Hanken. In addition, the girls varsity team placed 3rd overall. Our team is continuing to improve, we had numerous seasons bests and personal records set yesterday. Please congratulate our team and runners! Our next meet is next Thursday at Western Dubuque, hope to see you there!

All students will be able to vote for Homecoming King and Queen on Thursday, September 26 during all lunch shifts. If you are unable to vote during lunch, please see Mrs. Raker (room 113) by 3:30 PM on Thursday for a ballot. The King and Queen will be announced at coronation on Sunday, September 29 in the main gym. Coronation will follow the Maquoketa Athletic Booster Club auction at 4:00 PM.

 

Homecoming dress up days for next week: Monday – Country vs. Country Club, Tuesday- Dynamic Duo, Wednesday – Way Back Wednesday, Thursday – Class Color Day (9th – Yellow, 10th – Blue, 11th – White, 12th – Black, Staff – Gray, Community – Purple), and Friday – Spirit Day

 

Out-of-town guest forms for the Homecoming dance are available in the office. This pertains to you if you are bringing a guest from another school or a guest who graduated from MHS or another school and is under the age of 21. Completed forms should be turned in by Wednesday, September 25 to the high school office or to Mrs. Raker.

Miss Althoff wants freshmen to sign up to be a chief on the crews for the fall play! Sign-up is outside of Miss Althoff’s room on the window! Remember dues and papers need to be turned in for this!

 

If you are a crew chief or would like to be one, meet Wednesday, Sept 25th from 4pm to 5pm in Miss Althoff’s Room.

 

Come help with the homecoming shower curtains Wednesday after school. Another great way to get points for awards!
