Our administration is dedicated to sponsoring the Cardinal Culture. While creating effective citizens is one of the primary tasks of any school, our administrators focus their efforts maintaining a safe and joyful learning environment for all students, and working with teachers to make our schools produce happier and healthier adults.
Maquoketa CSD is very fortunate to have a dedicated business office. Our administrators and other support staff have more time to dedicate directly to the students and ensure a better learning environment for all.
The Business Office is located in our central office.

Maquoketa CSD’s curriculum coordinators build a curriculum that is not only rigorous but engaging, and founded in the 21st century skills that Iowa’s children need to take on a sometimes uncertain future. Things are changing fast with the possible discovery of new planets and exciting cures to long-time diseases. Our children need to be prepared to take on the challenges of tomorrow. Our curriculum will develop critical thinking skills and technological literacy, and foster independence in the next generation of farmers, leaders, and educators.

No child deserves to go hungry. Making sure that all of our students have access to nutritious food is a top priority of the Maquoketa CSD. When you are hungry it can become hard to focus, as anyone who has missed lunch before can attest. We want successful students, and fed students are better prepared to take on the tasks of the day.

Health and safety are of utmost importance to use here at Maquoketa CSD. Keeping our students and their families aware of the latest information on road safety, illness, and how to prevent the spread of disease in our communities are just a few of our tasks.
Preventative healthcare can often be the difference between a serious illness and just missing a few days of school. Health care coverage for uninsured kids is more affordable than you think. To learn more, please see the Hawki (Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa) Program website.
Incoming 9th Grade Students
- All incoming 9th-grade students must have a dental screening. Screenings must occur no earlier than 1 year before enrollment and no later than 4 months after enrollment. Screenings can only be performed by dentists or dental hygienists.
Incoming 7th & 12th Grade Students
- The Iowa Department of Public Health has made changes to the Iowa Immunization law for the start of the 2018-19 school year. This change requires that all students entering 7th & 12th grades have the Meningococcal vaccine before school starts this August.
- All students entering 12th grade must have proof of having the Meningococcal vaccine before school starts in August, unless the student has a Certificate of Immunization Exemption.
- There will be NO grace/extension period for the implementation of this requirement.
To obtain the State required Meningococcal vaccine you may take your child to:
- Your family doctor or health care provider, call and make an appointment today.
- Walk-in clinics.
- The Iowa Department of Health, which is usually free of charge, can be reached at (515) 286-3798 for appointments.
After receiving the Meningococcal vaccine, the completed immunization record can be faxed to (563) 652-5324, e-mailed to jihrig@maquoketaschools.info or dropped off at the high school office. For middle school students, fax to (563) 652-6885, email to bbehrens@maquoketaschools.info or drop off at the middle school office. Again, this must be completed BEFORE your child can start school in August 2023. There will be NO grace/extension period for the implementation of this requirement.
